Faculty Rights and Responsibilities
Consensual Relations
Approved by the Faculty Senate January 10, 2005; General Faculty February 17, 2005; Provost's Office February 7, 2005.
Applies to all full-time and part-time faculty who are not represented by collective bargaining.
Consensual sexual relations between students and faculty with whom they have an evaluative relationship constitutes a conflict of interest. Faculty shall avoid such relationships or, if such a relationship does exist, make arrangements through their Department Chair/Dean to eliminate any conflict of interest or appearance of such conflict, to the extent possible.
