Math Science Partnership 2008-2009
General Information
The West Ohio EXCEL Center of Excellence is pleased to offer a wide selection of science and mathematics professional development opportunities of teachers for Summer 2008 and continuing through the 08-09 Academic Year.
Academy Hours:
All Academies* will run as follows:
Monday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Tuesday through Friday 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Each day, participants will receive a lunch break. Meals are not provided, however there are food options located both on and off campus within a short distance.
*Connected Mathematics courses will run from 8:00am - 4:00pm each day.
Follow-Up:
Regardless of how many academies taken, participants must complete one academic year follow-up. Upon the completion of the summer component, participants must choose one academy topic that they would like to incorporate into the classroom and complete that academy's follow-up.

Additional summer courses pay $150/course. No teacher may earn more than $650 in stipend for the WeEXCEL courses. Teachers enrolling in more summer courses than listed above must fulfill the follow-up activities for their designated Cohort group, but will have no additional follow-up activities.

Optional Course Credit:
Teachers may choose to register for free graduate course credit. In order to register, teachers must satisfy graduate school requirements of the university (WSU or UD) that is offering the credit for the course. Each week-long course is worth two quarter hours (at WSU) or 1.5 semester hours (at UD). Additionaly, each academic year follow-up (with the exception of the 40 hour professional development follow-up) is worth two quarter hours (at WSU) or 1.5 semester hours (at UD). Please note which institution is offering the credit for each academy.
* Please note that the course is not always held at the site offering the credit. There are several courses held at WSU with the course credit coming from UD.
Deposit:
A $50 refundable deposit is required to ensure your space in the program. Your deposit will be returned to you upon completion of the summer component of the program. Checks can be made payable to Wright State University.*
*If you fail to meet the requirements of the course, your deposit will not be returned to you, and it will be cashed.Please see below for more information.

Deadline for applications is Friday, May 30
- If you are interested in taking our courses and the registration deadline has passed, if the course has not full, you may still register for a $25 late registration fee.
- If you have registered for a course and want to drop the course after the registration deadline, there is a $50 administration fee.
