Women In Nature; Grand Canyon Backpacking Trip

Challenge yourself over break with a 29 mile loop through one of the most spectacular canyons in the world.  Elevation will range from 6,400ft on top of the South Rim down to 2,200ft along the Colorado River. Participants will carry a full backpack with personal and group gear, and travel along difficult and remote terrain. We can expect chilly evenings and warm days.  The trip includes 5 days and 4 nights in the Canyon with a rest day at the bottom to enjoy the magnificent CO River, as well as a night in Flagstaff, AZ. Participants will spend the night before hitting the trail in a hotel/hostel as well as the evening post hike in a hotel to clean up and relax before driving back to WSU.

Cost: $310.00  Cost Includes: ORC Trip Leaders, transportation, all backpacking equipment, meals on location, park fees and permits, 2 nights in hotel/hostel.   Activity Level: Beginner-Advanced, must be able to hike independently on strenuous terrain while carrying up to a 40lb backpack. This trip is not appropriate for anyone with a fear of heights/exposure. This trip is strenuous.
