Led by Seth Gordon, Ph.D., Director, Veteran & Military Center, Amanda Watkins, M.Ed., Associate Director, Veteran & Military Center and Michael Farrell, M.Ed., Air Force Reservist, Program Coordinator, Veteran & Military Center.  Veteran and Military-Connected Awareness Training aims to provide faculty and staff with the resources and knowledge needed to serve military and veteran population of students. Through the first program, faculty will gain an understanding and perspective of the military-connected students’ experience. Student veterans come from a wide variety of backgrounds, yet share a powerful identity shaping experience that creates cultural norms dissimilar from the civilian population. The program will introduce faculty to the unique veteran and military student related issues, debunk myths, and provide an overview of resources for military-connected students, including those offered by the WSU Veteran and Military Center.
