This hands-on workshop will showcase iBooks Author, a tool for creating engaging electronic textbooks. Example iBooks will be highlighted and the design processes for developing an iBook will be explained. The goal is for faculty to create a Multi-Touch eBook you can self-publish on the Apple iBookstore and or iTunes U for delivery on iPads. Non-multitouch eBook format options will also be discussed for delivery on and to other platforms. Faculty will be provided with the following eBooks: "Take Control of iBooks Author", and "Paperless" as well as additional documentation. After the session, participants will need access to a Mac with OS X 10.7.4 Lion or later, a 2nd generation iPad or later, and the free iBooks Author software.
