USAF 5k Run
Wright State University Road and Parking Lot Closures
To ensure the safety of the racers, numerous parking lots and roads on the Wright State campus will close Friday, September 14 beginning at 6:00 p.m. and reopen when the race is completed, at approximately 7:15 p.m.
If you will be on campus after 5:30 p.m. Friday, you are strongly encouraged to park in Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 as these will be the ONLY parking lots open with access to University Blvd.
(and Col. Glenn Hwy) between 6:00 and approximately 7:15 p.m.
If you are coming to class Friday afternoon and plan to leave campus before approximately 7:15 p.m., please use these parking lots. If you arrive before 6:00 p.m. and plan to leave after approximately 7:15 p.m., you will have entrance and egress from your usual parking lot.
Signs at parking lots will indicate those that will be closed Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, September 15, Wright State Road and University Blvd (from Loop Road, heading north past Mini U and Raider Lot 20, and ending at Col. Glenn Hwy.) will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the USAF Marathon. Raider Lot 20 will be accessible from Kauffman Ave.
Information for Families of Mini U
Members of the university community planning to pick up children from Wright State University's childcare center, Mini U, after 6:00 p.m. are asked to park in Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 Friday and exit the campus on University Blvd. on to Col. Glenn Hwy. Raider Road next to the Nutter Center will also be closed during the race period, so families with children at Mini U are encouraged to take Zink Road to Kaufman Ave. to Wright State Road. You will be directed to park next to the soccer field and cross University Blvd. to Mini U on foot as race traffic allows.
We are excited to participate in this sixth annual event, a partnership with the Air Force and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Join us and cheer the racers on as they run across our beautiful campus. Please plan ahead for this afternoon so that the entire community—racers and drivers alike—can cross our campus safely.
