Wright State University will again host a speaker from the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), this time for a “Hands-on OSC Workshop” set to take place on Tuesday, October 30.  The workshop  will be held in the Library Annex 005 (seating is limited!), and run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.mRegistration is required in order for the OSC to create guest accounts ahead of the event.  Who should attend?  New OSC users, or researchers interested in learning about OSC resources.  This includes, but is not limited to, faculty, staff researchers, post docs, and students.  To register, visit:  https://www.osc.edu/calendar/events/2018_10_30-wright_state_university_hands_on_osc_workshop

 

The speaker for the workshop will be Dr. Katharine Cahill, the Education and Training Specialist at the Ohio Supercomputer Center.  Currently, Dr. Cahill is part of the education program of the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) program funded by the National Science Foundation.  At OSC, Dr. Cahill is developing computational modeling and HPC training programs.  For the XSEDE project, she is working with universities nationwide to assist them in starting computational science education programs by providing program models, shared materials, and professional development activities for faculty.
