The 1960s and 1970s were a tumultuous time in American history. Wright State, like many campuses across the country, was a hotbed of political action. WSU students held demonstrations to voice their concerns about issues like the lack of faculty and staff of color and the need for African-American students to have a safe space on campus where they could gather. To help address their concerns, the Bolinga Black Cultural Resources Center opened on January 15, 1971 as a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Come hear alumni share stories about their fight to improve the experiences of Black students at Wright State.
