Join us for an evening of Dayton ice hockey history with local author Chuck Gabringer. This event is free & open to the public and will take place in the Endeavour Room in the Wright State University Student Union. Free parking will be available in Visitor's Lot 2 by the Student Union.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. There will be an exhibit on Dayton hockey history and light refreshments will be served. Hockey fans are encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey.

Chuck Gabringer, a Dayton native, attended Wayne High School and Wright State University. His family's connection with Dayton hockey began in 1964 when his oldest brother Jim won the Dayton Daily News contest to name the new hockey team the "Gems." He helped organize the Lefty McFadden College Hockey Invitational, which ran from 2002-2007 at the Nutter Center, and was a member of the Dayton Hockey Hall of Fame election committee. He authored Hockey in Dayton in 2015 and is currently working on a follow-up devoted to the original Dayton Gems.
