The Higgs Boson — A Window on the Big Bang

Friday, February 7, 2014
4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
109 Oelman Hall
Wright State University

Learn more about the 40-year search that uncovered one of the most important scientific discoveries ever—the Higgs boson.

University of Oregon professor James Brau, Ph.D., will guide you through the universe of particle physics. Find out about the Large Hadron Collider and the world’s biggest scientific experiment. Understand “dark matter” and “dark energy.” Consider what today’s collider experiments may reveal in the future about the structure, behavior, and history of the universe.

Be our guest for an hour that will prove valuable and entertaining to anyone interested in physics and astronomy. Admission is free and open to the public.
