Grand Lake Law Enforcement Academy (GLLEA) Accepting Applications for 2013-14
Celina, OH – The Grand Lake Law Enforcement Academy (GLLEA) is currently accepting applications for the 2013-2014 Academy, held at the Lake Campus of Wright State University. Successful completion of the 9-month academy allows graduates to become law enforcement officers in any jurisdiction in Ohio.
Candidates who have earned a high school diploma or GED, are at least 18 years of age, do not have any felony or domestic violence convictions and have a valid driver’s license will be considered for acceptance into the academy. The application process also requires an interview.
Classes will start in August and will be held Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. There will also be six to eight Saturday classes, each lasting eight hours.
The cost of the academy is approximately $3,000. If eligible, financial aid may be applied. In order to receive financial aid, applicants must enroll as a student at the Lake Campus. Successful completion of the academy can count towards degree credit at the Lake Campus.
The academy is in compliance with the standards set by the State of Ohio and by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
