On February 27, historian Barbara Winslow, an alumna of nearby Antioch College, will visit Wright State to deliver her lecture, “Shirley Chisholm: Urban Liberalism, Feminism and the Black Struggle.” Winslow, who is now a Professor in the Secondary Education Department and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, has written much of her work on Chisholm, who was the first black woman elected to Congress, the first major-party black candidate for President of the United States and the first woman to run for the Democratic presidential nomination. Winslow’s lecture will be held in Millett Hall Atrium from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
