The Apollo Room
Come to the annual Diwali (Festival of Lights) program to celebrate the start of the Indian New Year with the WSU Indian Students Association on Sunday, November 11th from 6:30 pm to 12 am in the Apollo Room of the Student Union at Wright State University!
If this is your first time at WSU, the Apollo Room will be directly on the right-hand side as you walk in from the main entrance of the Student Union. You should be able to park in any of the lots as it will be the weekend.
We have received a number of
inquiries as to what people should wear. Suggested attire is Indian, so if you have Indian apparel, definitely wear it! However, if you do not have any Indian attire, that is not an issue. Do not let that stop you from coming! Everyone is invited!
There will be many activities that will take place throughout the evening including:
- Plenty of delicious food to eat (yum!)
- Henna and mehndi
- Performances by WSU Desi Beatz, our own girls fusion dance team
- Performances by local Indian dance groups
- Indian fashion show
- Open dance floor towards the end of the night
Due to our generous donations, admission is FREE this year for EVERYONE (both students and general public)! :)
Acknowledgements: This event would certainly not be possible without these organizations and people, so we would like to acknowledge them for their contributions. We would also like to thank our University Center for International Education (UCIE) office for assisting us. A special thank you goes out to Avinash Reddy and Abhishek Gandhi for all of his hard work in helping put together this event.

Please mark the date on your calendar! Make sure you invite your family and friends! We look forward to seeing all of you there!
