Challenge yourself while viewing sweeping landscapes and flourishing wildlife in Colorado! This backpacking trip is an opportunity to genuinely explore a segment of the landscape with its variety of details and terrain. This route is challenging and requires significant elevation gain of 4,000-feet in the first 8-miles. Experience the mountains above tree-line, encountering an undulating up and down pathway that is exposed and magnificent in its openness. Join us as we view the bright stars, explore the mountains, and eat yummy food outdoors for this trip of a lifetime!
Cost Includes: ORC trip leaders, Step Outdoors local guide, all backpacking equipment, meals on location, transportation from WSU in 12 passenger van, a soak in Pagosa Springs hot springs, and one night stay in hotel.
Activity Level: Intermediate-Advanced, must be able to hike independently on strenuous terrain while carrying up to a 40lb backpack. This trip is not appropriate for anyone with a fear of heights/exposure. Max participants: 8 *this trip is strenuous and requires a pre-trip fitness screening.
