A full weekend of canoeing and caving in Kentucky! We will drive down Friday morning and set up our camp for the evening before heading out on a 3.5hr wild caving challenge! This introduction to Caving will let you explore lesser-visited channels and chambers in Mammoth Cave while learning the rules and techniques of safe caving, giving you an appreciation of the cave as a special environment. Expect to climb and descend cave walls; tight belly crawls; walking in a crouched position; hand and knee crawls over rough rocks and dirt; and twisting in and out of passageway openings. Saturday morning we will pack up and head out for 2 days of canoeing on the Green River. On the river we will look for wildlife, springs, caves and river bluffs. Pack a swimsuit as there will be plenty of opportunity to cool off in the river. We will camp on an island and enjoy the wilds of Mammoth Cave National Park to the fullest!
