Campus Recreation: Red River Gorge Intro to Backpacking Trip

Description: Interested in learning how to backpack? Try it out with our gear and expert guides in the beautiful Red River Gorge as we explore the wilderness and the amazing Greys Arch. Along the way we will discuss gear, food, navigation, leave no trace, and other tips to make journeys like this a much more comfortable experience. We will be hiking during peak fall foliage, so enjoy the beauty with us!

Cost: $125 

Cost Includes: ORC trip leaders, all equipment, meals on location, all permits, camping fees, and transportation from WSU in 12-passenger van. 

Activity Level: Beginner: No experience necessary but will need to be able to carry 40 lbs. on back for 6-8 miles
Physical Challenge Scale: Level 2, this trip is moderate.
Remoteness Scale: Level 3, this is a backcountry trip.
