This free workshop is designed for those with little to no knowledge about intellectual property marks. We will review trademark basics including the differences between federal registration, state registration, and common law marks and how to file for a trade or service mark.

The mechanics of searching registered marks will be demonstrated using the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website and their trademark database, TESS.

The hands-on portion of the workshop will allow participants to practice the research skills
needed to determine if their trademarks are already in use in the marketplace.

Seating is limited. Please register online or contact Ran Raider, government and legal information coordinator for the University Libraries, at ran.raider@wright.edu or (937) 775-3521.
