The Wright State University Musical Theatre/Acting Preparatory Program (MAPP) is excited to announce auditions for the mid-west premiere of GOSSIP by New York City playwright, Brian Hampton and directed by Wright State University Assistant-Professor of Acting, Marya Spring Cordes on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Auditions will be held by appointment only and open to young actors ages 12-18. They will be held in the Creative Arts Center on the campus of Wright State University.

GOSSIP is a new play about a group of high school friends that graciously befriend a mysterious and infectious new student. However, as stories are manipulated and relationships crumble, all roads tragically lead back to one place. Gossip. The cast will consist of 2 males, three females and a small ensemble of actors. In June 2013, GOSSIP was performed in New York City as part of The Puzzle: Marble’s Festival of New Work.

Requirements for the auditions are: Actors (ages 12-18) should prepare (1) memorized, contemporary monologue 1-2 minutes in length. The monologue should be age appropriate. Some actors may be asked to come to the callback from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and read from the script.

Performances will take place at Wright State University on December 6th and 7th. For more information or to schedule an audition, contact Jamie Cordes, Administrator, at jamie.cordes@wright.edu or 937-775-3501.
