Kettering Medical Center—Nancy Tallyn

Recognition Year:
2014

Nancy Tallyn has been a Registered Nurse for 33 years and has worked for the past three years at Kettering Medical Center in the Labor and Delivery Unit. A high performer, Nancy has always shown a passion for helping families who experience the loss of a baby. She developed a program that would better serve women experiencing miscarriage and stillbirth. In 2013, she helped to design the Garden of Hope. Families who have suffered a loss are offered bricks for the garden with their babies’ names and dates of birth. Nancy also ensures that every family receives a memory box for the baby they lost and provides the emotional support the family needs in its time of bereavement. Her compassion has helped these mothers and families move forward in a very difficult time. Nancy earned her associate degree from the College of Southern Idaho and her BSN from Regis University in Colorado Springs. She holds certification in Inpatient Obstetrics, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, and grief counseling and is a Resolve through Sharing Counselor.
