Cameos of Caring

Grandview Medical Center—Scott Shiverdecker

Recognition Year:
2014

Scott Shiverdecker has been a Registered Nurse for almost eight years at Grandview Medical Center, where he is a staff nurse in the Operating Room. A co-worker states that Scott’s strongest and most effective asset is that “he cares.” Scott believes in and practices quality patient care and safety first. His distinctive qualities include integrity, patience, initiative, and a great ability to handle stress in difficult situations. As a leader who inspires others to work well together, his ability to think critically impacts both patient care and the trust of others around him. Scott approaches every patient care situation with a confident and competent attitude. He seeks opportunities to learn new skills in order to be better informed and to keep up with best practices. He is accessible and always willing to be a part of ongoing and future Operating Room projects. In 2011, Scott received Grandview’s Star Search award for serving as “an excellent example of teamwork and of the dedicated care that he proves to all of his patients.” Scott received his BSN from Wright State University.
