Fort Hamilton Hospital—Donna Barker

Donna Barker has been a Registered Nurse for two years and has been employed at Fort Hamilton Hospital for 24 years, where she is currently the Clinical Coordinator of Perioperative Services. She has helped to develop processes that continue to meet patient safety and core measure compliance. Donna’s coworkers say she leads by example and is always prepared to attend to the patients’ needs while making the schedule flow. She always includes the patient’s family when discussing the surgical process and serves as both the patient’s and family’s advocate. As a role model to her peers, she promotes a positive image for the unit and Fort Hamilton Hospital. Donna received her AAS from Cincinnati State University and is currently enrolled in the RN to BSN program at Ohio University.
