Approximately 850 full-time and 450 adjunct faculty enliven the classrooms at Wright State each year, sharing their real-world experiences, cutting-edge research projects, and lasting works of art.

An impressive assortment of subject matter experts, Wright State's faculty are often the reason students discover passion for areas that were previously unknown to them. We applaud our faculty for their dedication and abilities to teach and connect with the next generation of leaders.

Faculty Senate

What is Faculty Governance?
The history of faculty governance at Wright State University is grounded in the founding of the university, beginning with the establishment of Academic Council in 1966, which was also accompanied by quarterly General Faculty Meetings. Academic Council evolved into Faculty Senate in June 1997 and General Faculty Meetings were eliminated in May 2005 when faculty approved a revised Faculty Constitution.

AAUP-WSU

Wright State University’s chapter -- the AAUP-WSU-- welcomes all university faculty into its membership. The chapter also acts as the collective bargaining agent for tenure-track and tenured faculty (excepting those holding certain administrative appointments at the rank of chair and higher) on both the Dayton and Celina (Lake) campuses. All Wright State University faculty -- instructors, lecturers, clinical faculty, adjunct faculty, faculty with administrative appointments, as well as faculty in the bargaining unit described above -- are cordially invited to join the AAUP-WSU.
