OFFICE OF THE STUDENT OMBUDS

The Enrollment Management Division Ombuds Office is a safe and confidential place for Wright State students to talk about university related conflicts, issues or concerns.  The Ombuds will listen to concerns and help students identify options for successful resolution.  In addition, we provide guidance and information regarding any applicable University formal grievance processes and help explain University policies and procedures.

If you feel that a student would benefit from talking to a third party, please have them call

937-775-4278, and speak with Joan Bernstein.

Principles adhered to:

Confidentiality

The Ombudsman holds all communications with those seeking assistance in strict confidence

and does not disclose confidential communications unless given permission to do so.  A notable exception to this privilege of confidentiality is where there appears to be imminent risk of harm.

Informality
The Ombudsman, as an informal resource, does not participate in any formal adjudicative or administrative procedure related to concerns brought to his/her attention.  No records are kept.

Impartiality

The Ombudsman as a designated neutral, remains unaligned and impartial.  The Ombudsman does not engage in any situation which could create a conflict of interest.
