Here's the deal: we're not going to waste your time.
Some places might not tell you which are the required steps, and will overwhelm you with never-ending to-do lists. We've taken a look at all the things out there, and have narrowed your tasks down to just eight items—The Essentials—that you need to accomplish before starting classes. Use the list at the right to explore The Essentials and to keep moving in the "Wright" direction on your way to becoming green and gold.
Be sure to check back as we continue to make updates in order to make your transition to Wright State University seamless and fun.
Good luck, have fun, and we can't wait to see you on campus.
Fall Quarter classes start Tuesday, September 6.

Common Text Program
The Common Text Program is an essential piece of your First Year Experience at Wright State. Discussed during your first year as part of your Learning Community and other courses, the Common Text will allow you to gain a better understanding of what it means to read actively and critically, make judgments about the validity of what you read, and discuss challenging, sometimes conflicting, ideas.
2011 Common Text Selection:
Zeitoun
By Dave Eggers
Zeitoun follows the experiences of Syrian-born, Muslim-American building and painting contractor Abdulrahman Zeitoun, who remains in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in order to care for his clients' properties. During the days following the storm, Zeitoun saves the lives of trapped people and animals before being profiled (as an Al Qaeda terrorist!) and arrested by armed Homeland Security contract forces. He is effectively "disappeared" for weeks until a brave and compassionate prison chaplain smuggles word out to his frantic wife and children.
Students will receive a copy of the Common Text at Orientation.
