Alumni Achievement Nominations are now being accepted

The Wright State University Alumni Association recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of our alumni on an annual basis. These outstanding individuals are recognized for achieving numerous accomplishments in their chosen fields. In addition to possessing high standards of integrity and character, they have also given their time and talent to benefit the Alumni Association. Please consider nominating a deserving alumnus by July 27.

Wright State's president goes on virtual road tour, visits with alumni

Hundreds of alumni from across the country listened to and interacted with Wright State President David R. Hopkins in the first virtual alumni event for the university, Wright State on the Road 2.0.

The May 30 event used streaming video to connect alumni from eight cities and four states with the president, Student Government Vice President Nick Warrington, alumni, faculty, and staff in attendance in the Student Union Apollo Room.

Outstanding Raiders

Gerald L. Freisthler (Gerry), '79 B.S.
College of Engineering and Computer Science

Gerald L. Freisthler graduated from Wright State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in systems engineering from the College of Engineering and Computer Science. In 1994, he received a master's degree in engineering management from the University of Dayton.

LaShaunta' L. Jones, '03 B.S.Ed.
College of Education and Human Services

LaShaunta' Jones completed her undergraduate studies at Wright State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in middle childhood education with a concentration in athletic training in 2003. She also completed a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2008.

Though action on the fields and courts has ended for the year's collegiate events, there are always things happening within the athletic department.

Class of 2006

KJ Hippensteel (B.F.A.) plays the understudy for the lead role of Fiyero in the touring company production of the Broadway show Wicked.

Class of 1997

Kellie Warren (Psy.D.) was named CEO of Phoenix, AZ-based Florence Crittenton, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, education, counseling, and support to at-risk girls.

Class of 1989

Lynne Brown (B.S.) was appointed by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to be an administrative patent judge on the Board of Patent Appeals.
