Ann Weisgarber '76, B.A.
College of Liberal Arts
Ann Wall Weisgarber graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in social work. Born in Dayton, Weisgarber grew up in Kettering and graduated from Fairmont West High School. Although all of her friends went to college, Weisgarber wanted to work. She found a clerical job, but within a week she knew she'd made a mistake. Six months later she quit the job and enrolled at Wright State University. more »

 

James W. Gross (Jim), '77 B.S.Ed., '05 M.P.H.
School of Graduate Studies
A native Daytonian, Jim Gross received his B.S. in education from Wright State in 1977 and was one of two initial graduates in the Boonshoft School of Medicine's Master of Public Health program in 2005. With more than three decades of public health experience in Montgomery County, he is currently the health commissioner with Public Health–Dayton & Montgomery County. more »


Sports Update

Women's Basketball

It was a season filled with milestones as the Wright State women's basketball team, under first-year head coach Mike Bradbury, finished 20-13 on the season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) before falling 75-73 to Manhattan. The season included records for most wins since moving up to Division I, points by a senior (LaShawna Thomas), three-pointers in a season, threes in a game, and threes in a game and season by one player (junior Maria Bennett).

Alum Notes

Class of 1968

Connie Jo McCarroll, D.O., (B.S., '70 M.S.) is an associate professor of pediatrics at Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Class of 1977

Elinor Benedict (M.A.) published a poem, "Early Girl," in the annual literary anthology, The New Guard.

Class of 1984

J. Todd Anderson (B.A., B.F.A.) was the storyboard artist on the Academy Award-nominated film True Grit.

Class of 2009

Whitney Braunlin (B.A.) was accepted to the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University.
