Research

My general areas of research interest are geochemistry of natural waters (wetlands, lakes, ground water), application of light isotopes in hydrological and hydrogeochemical investigations, and environmental application of geographic information systems. Currently, we are working on carbon isotope biogeochemistry of a glacial lake. The goal of our study is to quantify carbon isotope fractionation during primary production and to explore the issue of linking carbon isotope in lake sediments to paleo-nutrient level. My other study is on the application of GIS to investigate the impact of land-use and land-cover on surface water quality of local watersheds.
