Assistant or Associate Professor in 'Aquatic Biogeosciences'
The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at Wright State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor starting September 2009. We prefer candidates whose research focuses on biological, geochemical, and physical interactions in watersheds and aquatic environments, broadly defined, and which incorporates interdisciplinary approaches. The candidate’s research should complement existing strengths in hydrology, geochemistry, sediment transport, GIS, remote sensing, complex systems, and applied geophysics within the department, and contribute to watershed and ecosystems research within the broader Environmental Sciences Ph.D. program. We seek candidates who will have or develop an active program of externally funded research that supports Environmental Sciences Ph.D. students and contributes to Masters and Bachelors degree programs in geological and environmental sciences. Applicants must have a doctorate (anticipated by Sept. 1, 2009) in an area of earth sciences, biology, or related discipline. Wright State has ~18,000 students with over $60 million per year in extramural funding and is located in the Dayton, Ohio, metropolitan area.
