Economics and United States History

Description: Economic Studies for Teachers
Selected economic issues and topics and techniques for teaching them in the K-12 classroom. May be taken for letter grade or pass/unsatisfactory. Prerequisite: ECO 511, 512, or equivalent; or permission of director of the Center for Economic Education.

Credits: 3 graduate quarter hours

Section Specific Course Description: Course is designed to explore U.S. historical events and their common links with economic concepts and events. Questions like "Where did the African American middle class come from?" will be addressed. This course will assist teachers in grades 6-12 with integrating economics into an existing US history curriculum.
