Lecture: Sitting Bull: His Life and Legacy by Ernie LaPointe

Ernie LaPointe is the great-grandson of the famous Hunkapapa Lakota chief, Sitting Bull. According to research done by the Smithsonian Institute's Repatriation Office, Ernie LaPointe and his three sisters are the only living relatives to Sitting Bull, the legendary Native American chief. LaPointe presented the family tales and memories told to him about his great-grandfather; shared his perspectives on Sitting Bull; and discussed the Lakota culture and why he wanted to tell his story of his great-grandfather, Tatanka lyotake, to the faculty, staff and students of Wright State University. He also
signed copies of his book "Sitting Bull: His Life and Legacy," the only book on Sitting Buff written hy a lineal descendant, after the lecture.
