Directory Search Examples

To find a student, pull down the search among drop down list
and select students. Enter his/her name in the
search box and click the Search button.

To find a faculty member, pull down the search among drop down list
and select faculty. Enter his/her name in the
search box and click the Search button.

To find a staff member, pull down the search among drop down list
and select staff. Enter his/her name in the
search box and click the Search button.

If you are looking for someone but are not sure if they are
student, faculty, or staff, select All Entries in the
drop down list.

If you are looking for an employee but are not sure if they are
faculty or staff, select faculty and staff in the
drop down list.

To find everyone with the last name Smith, search for: smith
-
To find someone named John Smith, search for: john smith

To find everyone with the last name meyer, but without finding
those named meyers, enter meyer in the search box and check the
box "search only in last names" AND check the box "exact match
only;"
it is very important to check both boxes unless the person has
only one name like "Cher"

If you're looking for Dave Stuart, but you're not sure if he is known as
Dave or David, search for: dav stuart

To find everyone with the last name Beverly without finding those with the first
name Beverly: enter "beverly" in the search box AND check the box labeled "search only in last names"

If you're not sure how to spell someone's first or last name, enter the first
few characters of the name.

Note that if you would enter search text of "John Meyers" and check the
box "exact match only," nothing would be found if the actual name
is "John L. Meyers;" don't use the "exact match" option on full names
unless
you are sure of the exact name in our database.
