Description:

Principles of characterizing materials with respect to crystal structure, micro/nano structure, and chemical composition using particle or wave-based probes (visible lights, X-rays, and energetic electrons). The interactions between the probes and materials are discussed. Characterization at both qualitative and quantitative level will be elucidated. Laboratory exercises are included.
