2006 Needs Assessment Surveys Wright State University’s Center for Urban and Public Affairs (CUPA) and the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area formed a partnership to support area organizations that rely on volunteers. We developed a volunteer management training program that was launched in January of this year. We also conducted a survey to understand further need for volunteer management training. We sent questionnaires to 870 nonprofit organizations and 200 volunteer managers in our region. The organizations and volunteers managers were selected from a nonprofit database which is maintained through the Center of Urban and Public Affairs (CUPA). Of those selected to participate in this survey, we received 242 responses from nonprofits and 73 responses from volunteer managers within our region. The survey results will be used to determine how best to prepare and develop volunteer managers to build volunteer capacity throughout our region. This effort is one of the many supportive measures being provided on behalf of the NetWorks!. For further information please visit NetWorks!.
