MISSION AND VISION

The PfS Bellbrook/Sugarcreek Advisory Board has the following mission and vision for their community:

 MISSION

 The Bellbrook/Sugarcreek Partnerships for Success initiative is a collaborative effort of the entire Bellbrook/Sugarcreek community, including youth and adults, businesses, the faith community, partner organizations and elected officials.  The mission of the Bellbrook/Sugarcreek Partnerships for Success Advisory Board is to make the Bellbrook/Sugarcreek community a better place for youth and families.  This will be accomplished by:

o       Creating and supporting meaningful community service opportunities.

o       Creating safe and fun activities for youth

o       Making youth voices heard

o       Raising community awareness of youth issues

o       Acting as community leaders, and leading by example

o       Bringing the community together and building support for youth issues.

 VISION

 The vision of the Bellbrook/Sugarcreek Advisory Board is that, through a thriving and influential partnership with the Bellbrook/Sugarcreek communities, the community will value the youth in the community and actively support positive community-based activities for youth.

 ACTIVITIES FOR THE 2004-2005 IMPLEMENTATION YEAR

      (1)   Research the feasibility of developing a Youth Center in Bellbrook-Sugarcreek.

(2)   Complete Frisbee Golf Course, including marketing and developing league.

(3)   Plan regular Show Up and Play days, including skill-building days.

(4)   Participate in Make a Difference Day on October 23rd

(5)   Plan a lock-in for area youth.

 LEADERSHIP

 The Partnerships for Success Youth Advisory Board will be led by elected officers.  The Youth Advisory Board will meet once a month, and committees will meet as often as necessary to complete tasks and complete responsibilities. At least one adult will attend the Youth Advisory Board meetings, to serve as a resource and a connection to the Cross-Community Advisory Board.  The adult Advisory Board will meet quarterly.  The Youth Advisory Board offices and responsibilities are:

 President:  Responsible for leadership of the Youth Advisory Board, setting meeting agendas and chairing meetings.

 Vice President:  Responsible for overseeing committees and helping committees to stick to timelines and responsibilities.

 Secretary:  Responsible for taking meeting minutes of the Youth Advisory Board meetings and collecting committee meeting minutes.  Distributes copies of minutes to students through school mail and sends one copy of minutes to Diane Woods and Lisa Arose via email.

 Treasurer:  Responsible for assisting committees with budgets, keeping track of money spent, completing paperwork as required, and coordinating fundraising activities.
