I learned a GREAT deal from OCPM! When I took the position of Safety/Service Director, my management experience was limited, if not non-existent! I needed "meat and potatoes" in terms of "quick" management training. OCPM gave me the training in a timely fashion and addressed all the areas I felt necessary!!

I see my position in a different light now! My initial thought after my appointment was that I had to learn everything about every department. Now I realize my job is to get the right people in the right positions and let them do their jobs!!

Our city has been very slow in planning for the future in past administrations. I'm excited that the Mayor and I are currently drafting the City's first capital improvement plan! In addition, we've conducted a utility rate study and will be raising our water/sewer rates to pay for infrastructure improvements. I expect Greenville to have its first vision/mission statement within the next 12 months and we're very proactive in our planning and brainstorming for future needs with our department heads.
