Board of Directors
The success of a nonprofit
organization depends on the dedication, maturity, and commitment
of its board of directors. Each member is to be elected because
they represent an idea,
mission, or goal of the overall
organization and are willing and able to contribute to these
processes.
Whether an organization is starting a fresh, new nonprofit, or
a member of an existing entity, it is important to understand what
the organization's board of directors does, how, and why. Within this
section, examples and outlines from various centers for nonprofit research
will be given. Such centers provide educational training and support for
nonprofit entities. By providing this information, nonprofits are able to
develop an efficient organization run by a competent and motivated board of directors.
