Survey Software

CUPA uses a 14 station Computer Automated Telephone Interviewing (CATI) system. With this method, survey questions are programmed into the computer, where the interviewer reads the questions as shown on the screen and directly enters the information into the computer – eliminating the possibility for data entry error as in the paper/pencil method where an interviewer writes the responses, while a second person enters the information – CATI eliminates a second set of hands. Skip patterns and question rotation is also common with CATI developed surveys, allowing us to conduct "Smart Surveys", surveys that are designed to maximize the value of survey questions.

Survey data is analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). This technique allows CUPA to run a variety of statistical techniques, from the basic techniques such as frequencies and cross-tabs, to more sophisticated techniques such as regression and ANOVA.
