Jack Dustin, Ph.D
Department Chair
and Associate Professor

University of Delaware (1991)

Dr. Dustin teaches teaches in the Urban Affairs and Master of Public Administration program, serves as the chair of the Dayton Technology Assistance Panel, is past president of the Miami Valley Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration, and is currently the President of the Wright State University Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. Research and scholarship include urban development, ethics, and technology policy. 

 

Daniel Johnson, Ph.D. Candidate

Assistant Professor
ABD Indiana State University

Dan teaches in the Urban Affairs and Geography program and is a past NASA INSGC fellow where he researched the health risks of the elderly in urban heat waves as related to the urban heat island effect. He was honored at Indiana State University by being named the most outstanding Ph.D. student due to graduate in the coming year. He is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the American Mosquito Control Association and Gamma Theta Upsilon. Research and scholarship include disease ecology, urban health geography, spatial epidemiology and vector biology.

 

Jerri Killian, Ph.D.

Dr. Killian teaches in the Urban Affairs and Master of Public Administration program. Research and scholarship include human resources, ethics, and administrative reform. 

Kenneth Lowrey

Mr. Lowrey teaches GIS, Physical Geography, Comparative Non-Western Environments, and World Regional.

Kenji Oshiro, Ph.D.

Professor
University of Washington (1972)

Dr. Oshiro teaches in geography program. He served as chair of the Department of Geography and director of East-Asian Section of the American Association of Geographers and has received two Full bright Senior Scholar Awards. Research and scholarship include urban and agricultural land use and development policy and urban development in Japan. 

 

Jennifer Subban, Ph.D.

Dr. Subban teaches in the Urban Affairs and Master of Public Administration program. Research and scholarship include program development, project management, family literacy, and issues of race, culture, and gender in community development and the nonprofit sector.

 

Mary V. Wenning, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Ohio State University (1995)

Dr. Wenning teaches in the Urban Affairs and Master of Public Administration program. Research and scholarship include planning and housing policy.

Mary Ellen Mazey, Ph.D.

Dr. Mazey teaches courses in leadership and regionalism. She concentrates much of her research in strategic planning, regional cooperation, and urban leadership. Served as chair of the department for seven years, director of the Center for Urban and Public Affairs for nine years, and chair of the Governing Board of the Urban Affairs Association. Dr. Mazy’s areas of study include strategic planning, regional cooperation, and urban leadership.
