Personal Training

Looking to get in shape but don’t know how to get started? Choose a personal trainer to help achieve your fitness goals! Your training can be one on one, or you can join a friend for buddy sessions. Personal training is available to all Fitness Center members for a reasonable fee.

How to get started:

1. You must be a member of the Student Union Fitness Center and possess a valid Wright One Card

2. Complete the interest form on the brochure (located at the recreation desk) or call 775-5816.

3. The personal trainer will conduct a health history questionnaire, discuss general fitness goals, and package options. 

4. A personal trainer will contact you to set up your training sessions and begin the health assessment.

 

Working with a Campus Recreation personal trainer is an effective way to help you achieve your healh and fitness goals.  Your trainer will develope a customized workout plan specific to your needs, instruct you through proper weight lifing forms and techniques, and increase motivation and understanding of fitness. 



For more information on Fitness/Wellness Programming, stop by the Office of Campus Recreation located in E092 Student Union, call the Graduate Assistant for Wellness and Recreation at (937) 775-5815.

The personal training staff is comprised of WSU students who are interested and educated in exercise science, physical education, nursing or a realted field.  You may choose your own personal trainer providing they are available.

Ehud Borovoy

Ehud Borovoy, 27 years old, from Israel.
I'm a fitness and health instructor. I worked for 8 years for the
Israeli Police Academy in Israel as a fitness instructor. I'm a
Shiatsu therapist as well, which is a Japanese massage technique. I'm
trying to teach people how to live a better and healthier life.

Ben Burnside

I'm a fourth year student at WSU, and I am an Organizational Leadership major. Before attending WSU, I spent my freshman year attending and playing football at Wittenburg University as a strong safety.  My philosophy to fitness is to set small goals and to reach higher goals.  I also think that is it important to have fun while working out and getting into better shape before you started your personal training experience. 


Mark Caraway

I am a criminal justice major at WSU. I am a trasnfer student from Wittenburg University and this is my first year at WSU. I love competition, but basketball is my main sport.  I am a junior, and I spent my first year two years of college at Wittenburg where I played basketball and was part of a national championship runner up of the ream.  I have always felt that the more fit your body becomes, the more self confidence you gain.  I love being able to help people transform their body in a way that will make them feel better about their body in a way that will make them feel better about themselves.  " If what you did yesterday still looks big, then you haven't done much today." Megan Feasel

 

 

Megan is a Graduate Assistant for fitness and wellness for Campus Recreation. She graduated from WSU in June 2006 with a degree in Communications and a minor in Spanish. Her graduate program is Public Administration.She was also a member of the cross country and track team at WSU for five years. Megan has been involved in athletics her entire life and has a lot of knowledge of nutrition, fitness, exercise, and health.  I enjoy teaching Rec. Fit classes and personal training because it is a way to share fitness with others and get people motivated to reach their goals. It is also a good oppurtunity to meet people and incorporate fitness and exercise in a fun manner.  Megan has a passion for fitness and health and loves to share her knowledge with others. CREC is a great way to get involved!!!

 

Jaclyn Garringer

My major is exercise biology and I am a senior at WSU. My hobbies include working out, staying active in Theta Phi Alpha Sorority, spending time with friends and family. My Training Philosophy includes pushing yourself the hardest when you don't want to push anymore.  I like to keep exercise interesting by alternating exercises and making them fun! I also work in the Fitness Center at WSU as a Fitness Center Monitor as well.  After I graduate this Spring, I would like to pursue a Master's Degree in Anatomy at WSU in hopes to teach anatomy at the collegieate level.

Justin Gregg

I am currently a senior in the Exercise Biology program. I recieved
my personal training certification back in June, 2007 through the NFPT
(National Federation of Professional Trainers). I enjoy lifting
weights, running, and seeing clients reach their goals. My next step
is to enter graduate school studying exercise physiology. I have
future hopes of one day becoming a Head Strength and Conditoning Coach
at a major University.

Daniel Johnson

I am a junior studying Business Management.  I am also a member of the Army ROTC and like to stay fit the "army way."  I will commission as an officier in June of 2009.  My philosophy is determined through hard work and committment.  This will get you anywhere.

 

JDane Harding

My major is Mass Communications and I am a freshman at WSU.

Some of my hobbies that I like to do isrun, play basketball, lift, and see

my clients improve.My philosophy for training is to make a goal
and then shoot for it through hard work and having fun while doing it.
Being physically fit will help you feel better, have more confidence,

Ronnie Keplinger

I am a junior majoring in Organizational Leadership. I am also a Cadet in the Amry ROTC program, and will commission as a United States Army Officier upon the time of my graduation.  I received my personal trainer certificate through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association).  In my spare time I enjoy weight training, running, biking, and various other forms of exercise.  I truly believe that physical fitness is the gateway to high self confidence, a positive attitude, and an overall better life.  Come see me for a highly motivated, customized, and effective workout program that will yield the results you have always wanted.

 

Aimee LaRiccia

My major is Athletic training amd I am a sophmore at WSU.
My hobbies include ballet, I am a member of Dayton Ballet II, training myself for
triathlons, reading, watching sports games
My philosophy consists of Strength and personal fitness are the most important. The
goal of training is to be fit, and fit according to your body type and
lifestyle. Fitness is a lifestyle choice and will only help you enjoy
life to the fullest. My job is to help you achieve that goal.

 

Timothy Lusk

I am in my senior year at WSU and my major is Art Education.  My hobbies include martial arts, water skiing, music, art, weight training and rock climbing. My training philosophy is quality over quantity. This tenique is the main key and most important for the best results.  I also work as a building manager for the Student Union.

Abby Marshall

I'm a junior at Wright State majoring in exercise
biology. I currently throw the javelin for the Wright State Women's
track team, and I throughly enjoy working out. I also teach Rec Fit
classes. My philosophy is that exercise should be an important part of
everyone's life and I want to help people be more healthy. After
graduating from WSU I want to continue training people by becoming
a strength and conditioning coach for athletes at a university.

Jeff Sparks

I am a Wright State Alumni. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. I am working full time as a electrical designer for a consultant firm located in Kettering. . . . . Yeah, I know what your thinking, an engineer? Calculators and equations, maybe but personal training??? Fitness is my true passion, and always has been. I have been involved with some sort of sports training since high school, and personal training ever since college. I have always been aware of my diet, exercise, and what is needed to maintain a healthy life style. Over the years I made a hobby of helping people help themselves with what is needed to get back to, or on the way to where they would physically like to be. 

Jesse Schnitzler

I am a fourth year student majoring in exercise biology, and plan on graduating after spring 2009. My hobbies include weight lifting, ice hockey, playing other sports, and music.  I played ice hockey through high school and still play in a recreational league. I am a diehard fan of the   Cincinnati Cyclones, Bengals, and Reds.  My philosophy is a dedication to physical fitness and goal setting can help you achieve anything you desire in life.  I look forward to helping you achieve the many benefits fitness can bring to you physically and mentally

 

Kelly Swick

I am a full-time graduate student in the Master's of Business Administration program, with a concentration in Project Management.  I received my undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Toledo.  I am recently married and love going walking, hiking and playing outside with my new husband and two miniature schnauzers.  Running the US Air Force Marathon was recently added to my list of accomplishments and I look forward to running more in the future.  I have been a teacher in group and exercise fitness for about 4 years and really enjoy helping people with their fitness goals.  My philosophy is that fitness is a way of life and that little changes can make a big impact for a better lifestyle and health!

Candace Thornburg

I am a sophomore intending to major in Exercise Biology and I am currently on the swim team for Wright State . Swimming has been apart of my life for over a decade and not only have I chosen this path as my lifestyle, but it is also my passion. I also enjoy participating in triathalons. I demonstrate great pride in living a healthy, stable life, and sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for fitness with my clients and others. My goal is to INSPIRE those who want to achieve life-changing results through knowledge, direction, and motivation.
