Project Components

Any good, possibly winner, project should include the following:

An identified problem/question in which the student has designed an experiment to test an hypothesis.

 

An approved research plan.

 

A detailed research report :

 

Title page

 

Table of contents

 

Abstract - maximum of 250 words

 

Introduction

 

Methods and materials used to study problem

 

Analysis of collected data to infer results

 

Conclusions and implications for further research

 

Graphs, tables, diagrams to illustrate investigation

 

References

 

 

 

A physical display

 

A totally self-supporting poster display

 

Exhibit tables, diagrams, graphs, models, etc.

 

Dimension - 36" wide by 30" deep and a maximum of 7 ft from floor

 

Posters should be neat with correct terms used.

 

 

 

An Oral presentation

 

Students should use note cards if necessary rather than memorization to prepare an explanation of their investigations.  Background information, methods used, data collected, and all visuals should be discussed.  Note cards are to be used for reference and are not to be read.
