I began working on my VMCAS application in June. I completed the application near the end of July after I had it proofread and edited several times. I think the hardest part was definitely the personal statement. I decided to focus on all the different type of animal experience I have as well as the fact that I want to pursue a career in food animal medicine. It is important to include something in your personal statement to make you stand out from the crowd so I thought my interest in food animal medicine was the perfect choice! I completed the GRE, submitted my VMCAS application to 4 colleges of veterinary medicine and had my transcripts sent at the end of August. Once my VMCAS applications were received I was able to begin submitting supplemental applications to the individual schools. Now that all my materials are submitted I am waiting to hear news from the vet schools.
