Welcome to the WSU College of Science and Mathematics
Exploring Science website.
Exploring Science is a multi-day event in which middle and high schools from various school districts bring students to the WSU campus to participate in a myriad of hands-on science activities.
Over 800 students visited the WSU campus last year to experience Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.
The annual event is organized by the College of Science and Mathematics. Stacia Edwards, Assitant Dean and event manager remarked, “Our goal is to excite students about the many career opportunities that exist within the sciences.”
Sessions are designed and taught by WSU staff, graduate students and our internationally known WSU faculty, including Dr. Kevin B. Bennett, Dr. Scott Watamaniuk, Dr. Dragana Claflin, Dr. Patricia A. Schiml-Webb (psychology) and Dr. Gary C. Farlow (physics), Dr. Daniel Voss (Mathematics), Dr. Suzanne Lunsford (Chemistry), Marcia Wendeln (biology), and Andrea McIntire (Geology).
“These presentations will reflect several creative ways developed by our faculty to stimulate interest in science among our youth,” said Edwards.
The program is presented without charge to the participants as a public service. For more details, contact Edwards at (937) 775-2237 or stacia.edwards@wright.edu.
