Physiology & Biophysics

Meredith Reedy, BMS student, earned 1st Place (Best Student Poster) at the WSU Molecular Biology Retreat. Her advisor is Dr. Tom Brown.

Kaisa Selesniemi, BMS student, received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for the WSU BMS Program. Her advisor is Dr. Tom Brown.

Tina Caserta, BMS student, received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for WSU SOM Physiology. Her advisor is Dr. Tom Brown.

Phuong Cao, high school student, received the Award for Excellence for Poster and Presentation in the Science Apprenticeship Program. His advisor is Dr. Adrian Corbett.

Dr. Robert Putnam participated in the ICCPB Meeting, in Mt. Buller, Australia. His topic was, “Comparative Aspects of Chemoreception.”

Outreach

Dr. Adrian Corbett conducted hands-on lab experiments for the Science Apprenticeship Program. This program is a science outreach program to encourage Dayton area high school students to explore careers in science/medicine. She also trained high school student, Phuong Cao, for a period of six weeks.

Dr. Julian Gomez-Cambronero is involved in the horizons in Medicine which encourages college students to follow careers in science/medicine.
