- Dr. Eric Mazur from Harvard University visited WSU on November 30th for a very eventful and busy day. He met with the BSOM in the early morning, gave a Physics Seminar "Femtosecond laser-assisted microstructuring of silicon for novel detector, sensing, and display technologies" in the late morning, led discussions related to teaching innovations at lunch, and gave an interactive workshop on "Memorization or Understanding: Are We Teaching the Right Thing?" in the afternoon.
- Dr. Ken Heller from the University of Minnesota visited WSU on December 7th for a second very eventful and busy day. In the morning, he led a "Workshop on Coopertive Group Problem Solving Pedagogy" attended by faculty from aournd WSU, at lunch we met with undergradatue and gradaute students, and during the afternoon he gave a public colloquim on "Building Sustainable Educational Change - A Systems Approach".

Dr. Steven Adams, a physicist with the Air Force Research Laboratory, works in a new laser spectroscopy lab at the Advanced Power and Thermal Reseach Lab at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Zach was selected as the CoSM 2011 Top Scholars graduating seniors selected by the Dean's office. The WSU Parents Association donates a book in each of their names, in their fields of study, to the WSU Libraries' collections. This recognition program has been in existence since 1995.
