Physics Education Program
``... encouraged physics departments to take increased responsibility for the education of teachers.''Resolution adopted by the American Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society, and the American Association of Physics Teachers (Physics in a New Era: An Overview, National Academy Press, Washington DC, 2001).
The Physics Education Program at WSU currently consists of K-12 teacher preparation and college-level reforms. The program in Physics is part of the Science Education program of the College of Science and Mathematics in conjunction with the College of Education.
The science education program at WSU is somewhat unique in that
most of the science educators hold joint appointments in the two
colleges.

In addition to the academic year program, faculty conducts summer institutes for in-service teachers.
