HOW DO I BECOME A MATHEMATICS OR STATISTICS MAJOR?


REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements must be met to become a mathematics or statistics major:

  • 24 credit hours earned
  • 2.0 over-all GPA
  • completed at least 2 courses in the College of Science and Mathematics (or equivalent transfer credits) with a minimum grade of "C"
  • Grade of "C" or higher and 2.5 GPA in MTH 2300 and MTH 2310
  • Students majoring in math are expected to be admitted to the College of Science & Mathematics by the end of thier 4th semester.

Once the above requirements have been met, students will need to submit an application at the CoSM Student Services Office in Room 106 Oelman Hall (application must be submitted by mail or in person).

After the application is reviewed, applicants will be assigned an advisor in the Department of Mathematics and Statictics.
