The EAF staff are available to assist faculty with research projects in CoSM as well as in other colleges.  We have enjoyed the expertise of our technical staff for nearly 3 years through CoSM support and to ensure the continuation of the availability of the technical staff and facility, EAF
users are being asked to include staff support in grant budgets where appropriate.  Some EAF users have already begun doing so and all others are encouraged to follow suit. This grant support is intended to offset some of the salary expense that the college has fully borne in the past.  The
details on future faculty grant support requirements still needs to be worked out with the college dean and other administrative units, but our goal is to make access to the facility and its staff affordable for faculty, a goal that can only be achieved by planning properly at the grant writing
stage.  If you are preparing a grant for a project that will rely on our technical staff or facility, please contact Steve Higgins about your project needs.  A formalized expectation of grant support will be communicated once details become available.

Thank you,
Steve Higgins
