The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Wright State University is four
academic years in length and prepares professional graduates who are eligible to sit
for the Registered Nurse National Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The program is approved by
the Ohio Board of Nursing and fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate

The baccalaureate degree in nursing prepares students for many diverse and dynamic
career paths in a variety of health care settings. The American Nurses Association,
the National League for Nursing and other nursing organizations strongly support
baccalaureate education as the entry point for professional nursing.
Admission Requirements
The College of Nursing and Health invites students interested
in a challenging profession in health care to submit
an application to the college for spring or summer term
admission. Entry into this competitive program starts
with admission
to Wright State University as a degree seeking student. . Admission to the University does not guarantee admission to the College of Nursing and Health. Admission to the college is a separate process. Pre-admission advising is recommended. Contact the College of Nursing and Health to arrange an advising appointment at 937-775-3132.
Admission to
WSU-CoNH
For Admission to Wright State University:
- Apply to Wright State University for admission as an undergraduate student.
- Call the Office of Admissions, 937-775-5708 for an application that you can mail in with the $30 one-time admission fee, or
- Apply online from the Wright State University web site: http://www.wright.edu/admissions/undergrad/
- Be sure to indicate dates of attendance at previous colleges and universities as well as schools of nursing on your application
- Request official transcripts to be sent to the Wright State University Office of Admissions from every college or university you have attended.
For Admission to the College of Nursing and Health:
- Complete prerequisite courses for admission to the College of Nursing and Health (see list below).
- Complete WSU application as stated above.
- Complete the College of Nursing and Health Application: Print the form below and complete it. Click here to download the form .
- Take the HESI RN A2 Admission Assessment Exam
Students are eligible to apply for admission to the nursing program after successful completion of prerequisite courses. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum of a “C” and a minimum grade point average of 2.75. In reviewing applications, the Admissions Committee looks for evidence of sound academic preparation, character, maturity, and the ability to perform functions required in the practice of nursing.
The CONH has two application deadlines per year for the traditional BSN degree. These deadlines are March 30th and August 30th. Applications for summer admission should be submitted to the CONH by March 30th. Applications should be submitted by August 30th for spring admission. Applications received after these dates will only be reviewed if there is space available.
If an applicant has been convicted of, or pled guilty to, any one of the offenses on this list, then they cannot be accepted into the College of Nursing.

Prerequisite Coursework
Applicants must have earned a grade of "C" or better in all prerequisite courses. These courses which include the following
courses or their equivalent must be completed by the application deadline dates:

- You must be accepted as a degree seeking student to Wright State University. It is your responsibility to make sure all transcripts from all educational programs attended have been received by Wright State University and that you are eligible to register for classes the quarter for which you are applying.
- A grade of “C” or better is required in all prerequisite courses (NOTE: A science course can be repeated one time only; a maximum of two science courses can be repeated. All natural science courses must have been completed in the last five years.)
- You must have completed all prerequisite courses with a minimum of a 2.75 grade point average. Due to enrollment limits (maximum of 100 per admission period) admission will be competitive based on prerequisite grade point average and HESI RN A2 entry exam scores.
- The HESI RN A2 Admission Assessment Exam must be taken and passed with a minimum score of 80 in each subject area (Math, Science and English) prior to applying to the College of Nursing. A copy of the results of this exam must be attached to the application.
- Please take note of the prerequisite course requirements. All of these courses must be successfully completed prior to admission to the College of Nursing and Health, (i.e., by March 30th or August 30th).
- You will be notified of the action taken on your application 30 days after the application deadline. You must attach to the transcripts or web advisor reports verifying successful completion of all prerequisite courses listed on the application.
