Applying for Graduation

• Potential undergraduate candidates must obtain an application form at the Registrar’s window, 244 Student Union, or in a rack beside the Veterans’ Affairs Office.

• Potential graduate candidates must obtain an application form at the Graduate School, 344 Student Union, or download one from the Graduate School website.

Commencement Requirements

• Undergraduate students may not apply for or participate in a commencement ceremony prior to completion of all degree requirements unless they have written approval from their academic dean and the approval is on file in the Student Union Administrative Office. Students with special permission from their academic dean to participate early must meet the same deadlines that are given for regular applications.
• Graduate students may not participate in a commencement ceremony if their degree requirements are not met and subsequent graduate school clearance has not been given and the approval is not on file with the Student Union Administrative Office.

Participation in Commencement

• March Graduates–Students who complete their requirements in March may participate in the June (Spring) commencement ceremony. These students must apply to graduate between August 22 and December 7.
• June Graduates–Students who complete their requirements in June may participate in the June (Spring) commencement ceremony. These students must apply to graduate between December 8 and March 1.
• August Graduates–Students who complete their requirements in August may participate in the December (Fall) commencement ceremony. These students must apply to graduate between March 2 and May 25.
• December Graduates–Students who complete their requirements in December may participate in the December (Fall) commencement ceremony. These students must apply to graduate between May 26 and September 7.
