The College of Liberal Arts takes a proactive approach to supporting the use of technology. The college intends to provide for faculty and staff with significantly different needs and experience in the use of technology facilities and support for an ever-expanding role of technology in the future. This support includes not only technical support of hardware and software, but also what is equally important, training to serve the instructional and curricular needs of faculty and students and to provide the most up-to-date system for Internet access to enhance teaching, research and professional service. 

The purpose of the committee is to serve in an advisory capacity to the administration and chairs of the College of Liberal Arts (CoLA). In addition, the committee's mission is to: 

1. set policies for CoLA's computing standards

2. set policies and strategies for computer support and training in classrooms and laboratories

3. serve as an advisory committee for the use of technology in the curriculum, for research, and in professional service

4. advise on the selection of computer hardware and software
